Dubin Law, PLLC is investigating the hazardous materials release in North Toledo near 1050 Progress Avenue that began on the evening of October 20, 2026.
Toledo Fire & Rescue ordered residents and businesses within the immediate area to evacuate while emergency crews responded to the release. Authorities later expanded protective measures to include sheltering in place in a larger surrounding area while they monitored conditions.
The incident may have affected residents in North Toledo and communities near the Ohio-Michigan border.
At this time, important questions remain concerning what was released, how far it traveled, what caused the release, and how residents and property owners may have been affected.
We would like to hear from people who were affected by the incident, including those who:
Were ordered or advised to evacuate;
Were told to shelter in place;
Received an emergency alert concerning the release;
Smelled an unusual or chemical odor;
Experienced coughing, eye or throat irritation, headaches, nausea, breathing problems, or other physical symptoms;
Sought medical attention;
Had to leave their home or business;
Missed work or incurred hotel, transportation, food, or other evacuation-related expenses;
Observed unusual residue or other conditions at their property; or
Believe they may have been affected even though they were outside the announced evacuation or shelter-in-place area.
